It’s always a special treat when dolphins come swimming over to the boat to play in the bow wake. They seem curious, turning on their sides to get a better view up at the boat and these strange creatures that are out in the ocean without fins.
To sailors of old seeing dolphins was a good omen for the voyage. We see them fairly often and feel very lucky to! The highest concentration we saw of our ocean going mammal friends was in the ICW in Georgia and South Carolina. Unfortunately, up there the water is not nearly as clear as what we get in the Keys or Bahamas so we didn’t get many pictures or videos of the dolphins up there. What we do have are some fun video clips of dolphins playing with Wanderer in the Bight of Abaco and back in the Keys. These clips cut in with some clips of us under sail, with a little Jack Johnson as the soundtrack might be just the ticket for our friends caught up in the polar vortex up North on this Monday morning.
Hope you enjoy!
