Well there it is. The big announcement!
Babies have been an on the table off the table discussion for us over the years. Sometimes we looked at our friends kids and thought how great it would be to have one of our own, sometimes our perception has been that they would hold us back from our dreams. Ironically, fulfilling our cruising dream is what lead us to ultimately decide to tackle the adventure of parenthood.
It was sometime last summer in the Bahamas where the baby discussion came up again. We started to think just how cool it would be to take a little person out cruising, like the wonder we felt and the beauty we saw could only be amplified through a child’s eyes. Now, that’s putting the cart a little before the horse as for the next few years we plan to be ashore now. But the new ultimate dream is to get out cruising again, this time with a little one in tow.
So, for now, we bid adieu to life afloat. We moved to a great apartment in Key Largo about two weeks ago. We had been living aboard Wanderer for the past six months since our return to the Keys but ultimately we decided she is not the perfect boat for us to live aboard, especially in the summer heat with a pregnant wife! We hope to sail her a few more times now that we aren’t aboard but will ultimately be putting her up for sale this summer, so if anyone reading this knows of anyone looking for a great couples cruising boat already located in paradise, get in touch.
I’ll try to update the blog occasionally with some updates about how we are doing and what we are doing. Thanks to all of you who have been reading along and liking us on Facebook. It means a lot to Trish and I that anyone is interested in our life.
